The Tulare Police Department Traffic Division is comprised of one supervisor, three motor officers. The Traffic Division proactively enforces vehicle codes, as well as holding D.U.I. check points, seat belt check points and bicycle rodeos for juveniles as well as handling most accidents.
The function of the Traffic Division is to educate the public as well as reduce the amount of injury accidents and utilize all possible resources to attain that goal.
In addition, the Traffic Division is on call for any major of fatal accidents that otherwise may reduce patrols function for calls for service.
The traffic officers' are supervised by the Police Corporal assigned to the traffic Division. The overall Traffic Division is overseen by the on duty Patrol Lieutenant.
