In September 2023, the Tulare City Council approved the construction contracts for the renovation of Zumwalt Park in the heart of Downtown Tulare.  

This capital improvement project will create a new regional destination with recreational and entertainment opportunities through the construction of a new amphitheater building and stage with tiered seating, lighting and landscaping, a playground, and splash pad. 

The central location of the park makes it an ideal focal point in the community that will attract 35,000-50,000 visitors to Downtown annually.
