The City of Tulare Solid Waste Division has partnered with the Tulare City School District to capture the food waste being thrown away in the cafeterias. This is to help them comply with California State Assembly Bill AB 1826.

We are excited to tell you that the students and staff are working hard toward getting all the contaminants out of the food scraps so it can be made into compost instead of it going to the landfill (dump).

We encourage you to help remind your student to use the green, gray and blue cans in their cafeteria correctly.
